YWCA of Yakima announces winner of Dorthy and Fred Plath Award

The YWCA of Yakima announced Wednesday that, Mina Worthington, CEO of Solarity Credit Union, is the 2017-2018 recipient of the Dorothy and Fred Plath Award.

The award is given to a Yakima resident who the YWCA believes is committed to improving the quality of life of people in the community.

“Mina’s leadership throughout the community and beyond to empower women and improve the quality of life for everyone is transforming Yakima,” Cheri Kilty, the executive director for the YWCA said.

Worthington has been the CEO of Solarity Credit Union since it formed in 2008.

“I am grateful and humbled to be recognized by the staff and board of directors of the YWCA of Yakima as the recipient of the 2017-2018 Dorothy & Fred Plath award,” Worthington said. “I am passionate about creating and supporting opportunities for women and minorities to achieve their goals and aspirations.”
