WSP: All lanes reopen following 60-70 car crash on I-90

All lanes of I-90 have reopened following a 60-70 car pileup crash that initially blocked lanes near the Geiger interchange on Tuesday.

According to Washington State Patrol, heavy snowfall and icy roadways are to blame. Both westbound lanes and one eastbound lane was blocked, but WSP said traffic has since cleared.

Six people were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and WSP said others who were stranded were taken to a warming shelter.

Latest report is that there is one lane open each direction of I-90 at MP 276 near Geiger Road west of Spokane. There are huge backups, damaged cars being towed. Temperatures are expected to drop. Please drive safely and avoid the area if at all possible.
