Woman saves squirrel with CPR she learned from ‘The Office’

A college student in Michigan took CPR skills she learned from NBC’s “The Office” to the test when she saved a squirrel that almost drowned.

UPI reports Natalie Belsito rescued a squirrel drowning in a pond and performed a variation of CPR on the animal, saving its life.

“It was a super cool feeling to know that I saved an innocent life,” Belsito said. “I watched a lot of Animal Planet as a kid, but for the CPR part was literally all from that episode in ‘The Office.'”

The episode Belsito eluded to in the fifth season taught staff to use the beat of the Bee Gees song “Stayin’ Alive” to time chest compressions.

After performing CPR and using a hairdryer to keep the squirrel warm, Belsito released the animal, as it appeared to make a full recovery.
