Woman accused of stealing $300k worth of jewelry from Liberty Lake store
LIBERTY LAKE, Wash. — Liberty Lake Police are looking for a woman they say stole $300,000 worth of jewelry from a local furniture store.
The Liberty Lake Police Department says on Monday, a woman entered the Consign Furniture and Jewelry store at around 5 p.m. and hid inside until the store was closed.
Police say she stole approximately $300,000 worth of miscellaneous jewelry from the store.
Surveillance video showed a woman walking into the store, and using her sleeve to open the door. That’s when Eric Rock, owner of Consign Furniture and Jewelry, says she disappeared into the store.
“Never seen them, but it felt like someone had done their homework for sure,” Rock said.
Rock says she waited until everyone had left, and then proceeded to steal tons of jewelry and a few handbags that were being held in cases.
“She used those bags to fill the jewelry in,” Rock said. “It does feel like a gut punch to come in and have your cases emptied out.”
It is unknown where the woman hid while the store closed, as the building is about 65,000 square feet.
“There are a lot of places to hide for sure,” Rock said. “It’ll definitely change how we do our closedown procedures.”
Now, Rock is offering a $50,000 reward for anyone who can help track down the thief.
