Winter storm leaves thousands without power in North Idaho

SANDPOINT, Idaho — Over 3,000 customers in North Idaho are without power on Tuesday Afternoon.

According to the Northern Lights website, the outages are at Priest Lake, Laclede, Sagle, north of Dover, northwest of Sandpoint and along the Upper Pack River Road.

Northern Lights said it’s working to repair damaged lines but it does not have an estimation as to when power will be restored.

People who need to report an outage to Northern Lights can call (866) 665-4837.

Here’s what Northern Lights says people should do during an outage.

  • Check your breakers or fuses to make sure the trouble is not in your electrical system
  • Keep refrigerator and freezer doors closed
  • Stay away from downed power lines
  • Do not try to assist emergency and utility crews
  • Use extreme caution when cleaning up storm damage on your property
  • Be safe!
