Wildfires force closure of Kettle Falls District campgrounds
SPOKANE, Wash. — The Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area Thursday announced that effective immediately all campgrounds in the Kettle Falls District are closed until further notice due to expanding wildfires.
The campgrounds include Camp Na Bor Le, Enterprise, Hunters, Gifford, Cloverleaf, Kettle Falls, Marcus Island, Evans, North Gorge, Snag Cove, Kettle River, Kamloops Island, Summer Island and Haag Cove.
The Kettle Falls Marina is open and and all facilities there remain open.
Campgrounds in the southern end of the park, including Spring Canyon, Keller Ferry, Hawk Creek, Porcupine Bay and Fort Spokane remain open.
