Wildfires and dry weather prompt fire ban at Lake Roosevelt

HUNTERS, Wash. — The National Park Service announced a ban on all fires at Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area, effective on Friday, until further notice.
The restrictions were announced in response to dry, hot weather and wildfires in the region.
According to NPS, “No open flames are permitted. This includes but is not limited to; all fires in NPS provided fire rings and boxes, charcoal fires, tiki torches, incense burners, candles, and propane campfires. Exceptions include self-contained propane or gas stoves or lanterns.”
