Hwy 243 reopened north of Mattawa following wildfire

GRANT CO., Wash. — Highway 243 has reopened five miles north of Mattawa after firefighters contained the Beverly Burke Fire.
Wildfire smoke from the fire is still causing traffic backups on Highway 243, five miles north of Mattawa.
Fire officials have reopened a two-mile stretch of the road now that the fire is contained. No detours were available and traffic is slowly moving through.
No evacuations have been issued yet, and authorities are on scene.
