State Route 17 reopens near Soap Lake following wildfire

GRANT CO., Wash. — State Route 17 has reopened six miles north of Soap Lake following a wildfire.

Officials say the fire was caused by a car that went off the road and crashed into a ditch. Southbound lanes are still partially blocked as crews contain the fire to the east side of the road.

Drivers should expect delays as traffic starts moving again, and are urged to use caution driving through the area.
