West Valley Outdoor Learning Center Hosts OLC Jamboree

SPOKANE, Wash. — This Saturday, The West Valley Outdoor Learning Center hosts its birthday party, celebrating 18 years of providing education about raptors, owls, and other wildlife.
The OLC Jamboree is held at West Valley Outdoor Learning Center, 8508 E Upriver Drive, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The celebration is carnival themed with an emphasis on animals. Featured events include: a toad toss, hedgehog bowling, and pin the beak on the owl. Real animals will not be used. However, there will be actual tortoises competing in the tortoise races at 10:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m., noon and 1 p.m.
The celebration also includes a silent auction. Items up for bid include photographs, paintings, and event quilted designs of the birds. There is also a petting zoo, arts and crafts, a photo booth, face-painting, popcorn and lemonade.
The suggested donation for admission is $5 per person. Money raised from the event will be used to support the center.
