Weekend closure along Monroe Street Bridge canceled

Weekend closure along Monroe Street Bridge canceled
City of Spokane

A planned closure across the Monroe Street Bridge this weekend has been canceled.

The City of Spokane made the decision to cancel the planned paving project that would have forced the closure due to anticipated wet and cold weather.

The closures are needed to accommodate the paving and will be rescheduled at a later time.

Construction work will continue over the weekend at the site of the combined sewer overflow tank being built along Spokane Falls Boulevard between Lincoln and Monroe. There will be lane restrictions on Spokane Falls Boulevard and on Monroe, south of the bridge.

The project on Spokane Falls Boulevard is part of the city’s work to improve the health of the Spokane River. The project includes the installation of a 2.2 million gallon combined sever overflow tank and new public plaza.
