Wastewater data shows decline in COVID cases in Spokane County

SPOKANE, Wash. — While there are new positive cases of COVID-19 in Spokane County, the rate of infection is going down.

According to wastewater data in Spokane County, COVID cases dropped between October 30 and November 5.

Per 100,000 people, there were about 38.9 new cases, compared to the 42.1 from the week prior. The hospital admission rate was 1.5 per 100,000 people.

The Department of Health also says cases are on the decline in the state of Washington.

According to the Spokane Regional Health District, 65.3% of the Spokane County population have initiated vaccination, and 59.3% are fully vaccinated.
