Washington is the best state to live in according to new rankings

The metrics have spoken: Washington state is the best state to live in according to U.S. News and World Report.
According to their website, “The Best States ranking of U.S. states draws on thousands of data points to measure how well states are performing for their citizens.”
The site takes into account health care, education, economy, infrastructure, public safety, fiscal stability of state government, and the opportunity it affords its residents.
“More weight was accorded to some state measures than others, based on survey of what matters most to people,” the site says.
Weighted most heavily were health care and education followed by economies, infrastructure, and the opportunity states offer their citizens. Then came fiscal stability, crime and corrections, and state’s natural environment.
A number from one to fifty were given in each category depending on where the state ranked in each.
Here are Washington’s rankings:
Health Care – 4

Economy – 3
Infrastructure – 2

Fiscal Stability – 22
Crime & Corrections – 15
