Washington in top 5 states with least student debt
A new study ranks Washington as the fifth state with the least student debt.
Personal finance website WalletHub released the report Wednesday.
The 50 states and the District of Columbia were compared based off data such as average student debt and unemployment rate among people ages 25 to 34.
South Dakota topped the list as the state with the most student debt, followed by West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, and Ohio.
Utah was listed at the bottom as the state with the least student debt, followed by Hawaii, Wyoming, California, and then Washington.
