Washington House Bill would provide tax exemption for breast pumps

OLYMPIA, Wash.—A new bill currently in committee in the Washington State Legislature would exempt breast pumps from sales tax, if passed.
HB 2927 would grant the same exemption for breast pumps, kits and parts, as currently applies to infant formula.
The proposed bill would not cover breast pump travel bags or other carrying accessories.
The bill’s first reading happened Wednesday and is currently sitting with the House Finance Committee.
If passed, the bill takes effect July 1.
