SPOKANE — If all of this winter’s snow has you thinking of  warm sand and sunny skies, now may a good time to book your perfect getaway.

Airlines are slowly dropping ticket prices and trying to lure travelers back to spend some money.

There are deals to be found but it all depends on how flexible you can be. For example if you travel mid-week you can find great deals right now like a round trip ticket to Rome in April for just $700. Normally that ticket would cost you $1,200.

Or you could head across the Pacific Ocean instead to the sandy beaches of Hawaii. Hawaiian Airlines is offering a round trip to Honolulu from Seattle for just $268. Triple-A found a deal where you could spend five nights in a four-star hotel in Kauai, get round trip airfare from Spokane and a rental car for just $655.

With fewer people traveling Triple-A says hotels, airlines and cruise companies are doing what ever it takes to get you to take a vacation.

“The deals are unbelievable, really if you have money to go places it’s the best time to travel,” Donna Antaya, who just got back from Phoenix said. “I probably wouldn’t have taken this trip if it wasn’t so cheap.”

John Hentze is still reeling in the Zags victory in the WCC tourney he just watched in Las Vegas.

“The air and the five days, four nights, a little over 400 dollars,” he said, adding that he usually pays more than $600.

If you want to travel to Sin City Virgin Airlines is offering one-way tickets from Seattle for just $59. It’s about $95 one-way on every major airline out of Spokane.

If you want to enjoy the California sun Alaska Airlines is offering $99 one-way tickets to Orange County from Spokane.

While the deals are enticing some travelers like Paul Amend want to keep their money a little closer to home.

“You don’t know how far your money is going to go for how long so it would be a little more careful at this time than you normally are I would think,” Amend said.

So if you’re looking to travel remember to be flexible when searching for the best deals. If you still haven’t booked that spring break trip you may not find such a good deal because there is limited availability. However if you want to travel this summer, Triple-A says now is a good time to start looking.
