Walmart plans to remodel Spokane Valley, Moses Lake and Omak locations

Walmart announced Wednesday it will remodel stores in Spokane Valley, Moses Lake and Omak.

In a press release, Walmart said nearly $36 million will go toward improvements, new technologies and upgrades in stores throughout Washington.

Seven Washington stores are set to get major remodels. The retail giant also plans to bring grocery pickup and delivery to more than a dozen Walmart stores across the state.

Four Walmart Pickup Towers, which are 16-feet tall vending machines that can fill customer’s online orders in under a minute, will be installed at select locations.

Walmart also plans to put money toward back-of-house operations. A system called FAST, which automatically scans and sorts items off the trucks, will be installed in 19 stores. An autonomous floor scrubber will also be introduced.
