Walmart employees can go to college for $1 a day
Would you pay one dollar a day to go to college, get a degree– and graduate with no debt?
That’s what Walmart is offering its employees right now.
The company says it will pay for AA and Bachelor’s degrees for one-point-four million US employees–as long as they get degrees in business or management.
The retailer will work with three universities– and offer the degrees to part-time, full-time and salaried workers at Walmart and Sam’s Club.
Walmart will cover the costs of tuition, fees, and books.
Employees will be required to pay one dollar a day for the length of their studies.
Walmart– like other retailers– has been struggling to keep workers.
The unemployment rate is at a 17-year low.
Across the country there are 723-thousand unfilled retail jobs.
