Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery Building New Location

SPOKANE, Wash. — The Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery serves more than 5,000 kids every year, but some children are getting turned away because there’s not enough space.

That’s why the non-profit has started a growth initiative called Project Every Kid. The goal is to protect more children from the trauma of abuse and neglect.

A new home for the nursery is in the works on East Sprague Ave. Once that’s finished, it’ll have the resources to triple the number of families they can help.

“We can’t do this without everybody saying our children in the Spokane area are important, and we all have a say in helping our children to grow up and be healthy and productive members of society,” said Amy Vega, Executive Director at the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery.

Vega said any gift amount is helpful and pledges can be fulfilled over three years. All investments of $1,000 or more will be permanently recognized at their new location once it’s complete.
