UW Student Faces Murder Charge For Roommate’s Death In Italy
ROME — A University of Washington student in Italy faces a murder charge for the death of her roommate.
Prosecutors have requested murder indictments against Amanda Knox of Seattle and two other people — her former Italian boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito, (sol-EH’-chee-toh) and Rudy Hermann Guede (GWAY’-day) of Ivory Coast.
All three are in jail. They have denied any wrongdoing in the death of Meredith Kercher, a student from England.
She was found dead in November in the house she shared with Knox in Perugia (per-OO’-juh).
Prosecutors say she was stabbed in the neck resisting sexual assault.
