Previous Story:
A shooting on the lower South Hill left one woman dead and a man in critical condition. Police say the woman who pulled the trigger is still at large.
Witnesses heard at least three gunshots just after 3 p.m. Tuesday outside the Westview Manor Apartments.
Howard Brayman was doing laundry next door when he heard a woman screaming for someone to call 911. He stayed with the male victim until emergency crews arrived.
“I kept telling him, ‘hang in there buddy, I hear the sirens!'”
Police say the suspect is a black woman between 25 and 35 years old. A helicopter and K9s were called in to help with the search but the woman was never found.
“That person is dangerous right now. They have shot two people. We don’t know what their state of mind is, we don’t know what they would do,” said John O’Brien with Spokane Police.
Police want residents to be vigilant.
“If you see something very suspicious like a person hiding in your backyard, please don’t go confront them. Call 911,” O’Brien said.
