Upcoming 5K aims to feed the region’s hungry veterans

SPOKANE, Wash. — An upcoming 5K at Riverside Memorial Park will raise money to help feed Spokane’s veterans. The race will take place on Sunday, November 28 at 10 a.m.
Fairmount Memorial Association, Heritage Funeral Home and Crematory and Meals on Wheels Spokane are partnering up for the annual Race to Feed Our Veterans 5K.
The race is a way to honor the regions veterans while raising funds to feed the city’s hungry veterans.
Participants can sign up at www.mowspokane.org. The $20 cost will feed 5 Veterans and includes a long sleeve shirt and free hand flag. Adults, children and dogs of all ages and fitness levels are invited to participate. The race will take place through the park, so runners and walkers will not have to worry about crossing traffic.
Hot cider, chili and cookies will be available to enjoy at the finish line.
Racers are also asked to bring canned food to donate on the day of the event.
