Two Juveniles Charged In Separate N. Idaho Arsons
COEUR D’ALENE, Id. — A 9-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy are suspected of lighting a pair of fires in Coeur d’Alene.
The youngsters were arrested on Wednesday evening after police responded to a grass fire near a fast-food restaurant.
Employees of a Kentucky Fried Chicken were able to identify the 9-year-old.
Further investigation by authorities resulted in the discovery of a second fire scene and the 15-year-old was linked to that blaze.
Both fires were started by a cigarette lighter.
Police say the children will be charged as juveniles with third-degree arson. They’ve been released to their families.
