Two Dead In Moses Lake Explosions
MOSES LAKE — Two people are dead after two different explosions in Moses Lake and now authorities are working to determine if the explosions were related.
Moses Lake Undersheriff John Turley confirmed Monday morning that two people are dead due the explosions, but is not saying if the two are related.
On Saturday Grant County Fire District along with Grant County Sheriff’s deputies arrived at a home in Wheeler just outside of Moses Lake to find 69-year-old William Walker face down with severe trauma due to a explosion. Walker was pronounced dead at the scene from trauma experienced from an explosion.
Then early Sunday morning a 911 caller reported a possible explosion involving injuries. Authorities arrived on scene to find 53-year-old Javier Martinez Adame of Moses Lake dead. Deputies who had arrived on the scene noticed a pungent air filled with the smell of sulfur both inside and outside the residence.
The Grant County Sheriff’s Office, Washington State Patrol and the FBI are investigating the two fatal explosions are working on the case to examine all evidence related to the two explosions.
Undersheriff Turley says they are also investigating a third pipe bomb incident that occurred in Soap Lake 10 days ago to see if that incident is connected.
They are also looking into a rise in gang activity around Moses Lake and if this is related to the two explosions.
