Two Clarkston teenagers killed in wrong-way crash in Arizona
NEW RIVER, Ariz. — Three teenagers were killed in a wrong-way crash in Arizona on Sunday, with two of the victims being from Clarkston.
All three victims were students at Grand Canyon University. The crash occurred near New River, Arizona.
Four cars were involved in the crash. The Arizona Department of Public Safety (ADPS) says a Toyota SUV was driving southbound in the northbound lanes and struck three vehicles.
ADPS says 18-year-old Abriauna Hoffman and Magdalyn (Maggie) Ogden, both from Clarkston, died at the scene. The third victim, 19-year-old Hunter Elaine Kinohi Balberdi from Hawaii, died in the hospital.
The driver of the wrong-way car was taken to a Phoenix hospital with serious injuries. Law enforcement suspects driver may have been impaired and the incident remains under investigation.
