Two arrested for burglary in Soap Lake

SOAP LAKE, Wash. — Two people were arrested after burglarizing a home just north of Soap Lake.
A home in the 2200 block of State Route 17 North was burglarized two nights in a row, prompting a Grant County sheriff’s deputy to stake out the house Wednesday morning.
At around 6 a.m., the deputy saw a car pull up, open a secured gate, and drive up to the home.
The deputy stopped the car as it was leaving the home.
The car’s driver, Brenda Starcher, 44 years-old of Soap Lake, was arrested.
The passenger, 26-year-old Daniel Coreas of Soap Lake, fled on foot.
Deputies, Ephrata police, and sheriff’s K-9 Grizzly all searched the area.
A passerby told deputies they saw a person matching Coreas’ description get into a car which headed north on SR17 toward Coulee City.
Deputies and Ephrata police caught up with the car near Moore Road Northeast and arrested Coreas who was a passenger in the car.
Both Starcher and Coreas are lodged in the Grant County Jail for investigation of second degree burglary.
This is an ongoing investigation.
