Tribute show to Mildred Bailey

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho — Coeur d’Alene Casino will be hosting a tribute to Mildred Bailey.
Gary Edwards announced that he is producing the tribute show which will be at the casino on November 1 and 15 at 6 p.m.
Mildred Bailey was born in 1951 and belonged to the Coeur d’Alene tribe.
Bailey and her brother, Al Rinker, were friends with Bing Crosby as Rinker joined Crosby to form his first duo. They were known for performing at various Spokane Vaudeville shows.
Bailey started her singing career with Crosby as well; both helping each other reach success in their music.
She has several number one hit songs in the swing and jazz genres with Paul Whitman orchestra and several other bands. She died in 1953 of diabetes at age 48, and was supported to the end by her friends and family.
Cecilia Curtis, a member of the Coeur d’Alene Tribe, will be singing the part of Bailey.
