Timme named CBS Sports Preseason Player of the Year

SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga basketball’s Drew Timme has been named CBS Sports Preseason Player of the Year. 

Timme was joined on the All-American First Team by Kentucky’s Oscar Tshiebwe, North Carolina’s Armando Bacot, UCLA’s Jaime Jaquez Jr., and Houston’s Marcus Sasser. 

Last season, Timme was named a John R. Wooden Award Player of the Year Finalist, Wooden All-American, and Second Team All-American by Sporting News, the Associated Press, NABC and USBWA. 

Timme topped the West Coast Conference with an average of 18.4 points per game. He also won the Karl Malone Award in 2020-21 and was a finalist for the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Center of the Year award.
