Thunderstorms and strong winds blowing into Washington, North Idaho late Sunday afternoon

SPOKANE, Wash. — If you have any outdoor plans late Sunday afternoon, you may want to move them inside.

Thunderstorms are going to be blowing across the region Sunday afternoon and into the evening. Counties around Spokane are at risk for strong storms, according to the National Weather Service.

Thunderstorms are possible anywhere tonight across Eastern Washington and North Idaho, but they will mostly be concentrated over Central Washington.

Wind gusts could reach up to 50 mph—resulting in tree damage, property damage and blowing dust in the Columbia Basin. Small to moderate hail is also possible, and there could be occasional ground lightning strikes, as well as brief downpours.

Storms will develop near the Oregon/Washington border after 4 p.m. and travel northeast through the evening across central into northeast Washington.

NWS says the storms will possibly continue into Monday night and Tuesday.
