A local man threatening suicide caused three Spokane schools to go on lockdown Thursday morning. That man was later arrested by police.

Spokane Police received a report at around 10:30 a.m. Thursday of a man with a firearm running down the street in the 1000 block of E. Central Ave, threatening suicide.

Nearby schools were immediately put into lockdown.

Responding police officers and detectives found the man running down the street near N. Helena St and W. Joseph Ave. The man was taken into custody. A realistic looking replica of a firearm was found in his bag.
