Three Dead In Plane Crash Near Arlington

ARLINGTON, Wa. — The Skagit County sheriff’s office says a woman, her daughter and another adult died in a plane crash near Arlington.

The pilot has been identified as 47-year-old Brenda L. Houston of Enumclaw. Also killed in the crash were Houston’s 10-year-old daughter, Elizabeth M. Crews of Enumclaw, and 54-year-old Dr. Virgil Becker of Auburn.

Deputy Will Reichardt says initial reports indicate that the Cessna 172 was flying from Roche Harbor on San Juan Island to Auburn.

The wreckage has been located nine miles north of Arlington, in the area of Bald Mountain in Skagit County. The plane went down around 8:30 Sunday.

Reichardt says it is in a rugged area and searchers are cutting a trail to the site.

The cause of the crash is not yet known.
