Then things start to change. A cold front will cross the area late Friday evening. There’s only a slight chance of rain or snow showers in the valleys with this front, but there’s a good chance of snow in the Idaho Panhandle Mountains. Breezy winds on Saturday and cooler weather will be the main impacts with the front’s passage. In the instability behind the front on Saturday, there’s a possibility of some convective showers producing some graupel or even an isolated thunderstorm with small hail. We will get a break from the unsettled weather on Sunday, but rain and snow showers will return for Monday and Tuesday. Temperatures next week will be right around average, which is in the mid 40s.
