Ten Killed In U.N. Helicopter Crash
KATMANDU, Nepal (AP) — At least ten people have been killed in the crash of a United Nations helicopter that was flying in bad weather over a mountainous region of Nepal on Monday.
The air rescue chief at Katmandu airport says rescuers have pulled 10 bodies from the wreckage, but it’s still not clear how many people were on board the helicopter.
The official cites “conflicting reports” that there were either 11 to 15 people on board, but he says U.N. representatives aren’t sure how many people were in the aircraft.
