Teen being tried as an adult in Yakima fatal shooting

A 17-year-old boy accused in a fatal shooting near a Yakima middle school is being tried as an adult.
KIMA-TV reported Monday that the teen is accused of shooting and killing 19-year-old Eduardo Rodriguez-Castenada in a parking lot next to West Valley Middle School in July.
Police found Rodriguez-Castenada slumped over his pickup truck on July 19.
Police reports say a bullet casing outside the truck indicated he was shot through his driver’s side window.
The teen was arrested last week when police were responding to a firearm assault downtown.
Police say they matched the teen’s gun with casings found at Rodriguez-Castenada’s murder scene.
