What’s your big idea? TEDxSpokane now hosting auditions

SPOKANE, Wash. — TEDxSpokane, an independent branch of TED Talks, hosted the first of five auditions on Tuesday night.

Organizers say roughly 200 people apply to speak each year. Only a dozen make it past auditions to the big stage in October.

“The mission is share ideas worth spreading and so if you can bring a lot of interesting speakers together at one event, you can create new ideas through a diverse number of topics,” said Jamie Tender, founder of TEDxSpokane.

The next round of auditions are on March 10. Speakers need to apply online to be considered.

The main TEDxSpokane event is October 10 at the Bing Crosby Theater.
