Supplements probably aren't helping your heart, research suggests

More than half of adults report using dietary supplements, but new research suggests that most vitamins and minerals don't do anything for heart health. Some products, according to a review of hundreds of existing studies, may even increase the risk of stroke.

Compounds in herbal supplement kratom are opioids, FDA says

US Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Dr. Scott Gottlieb warned the public about the herbal supplement kratom in a statement on Tuesday, saying "There is no evidence to indicate that kratom is safe or effective for any medical use" and likening its chemical compounds to opioids.
