Northern California's deadly and monstrous Carr Fire, ignited last month after the rim of a trailer's flat tire scraped the asphalt, has been fully contained, state fire officials said late Thursday.
The Carr Fire is causing residents of Redding, California, to flee their homes as the flames have damaged several buildings. The fire has killed two people fighting the flames.
Sixteen of the largest wildfires burning in California have scorched 320,000 acres, authorities said Wednesday -- an area larger than the entire city of Los Angeles.
