Tropical Storm Bud hit the southern edge of the Baja Peninsula in northwestern Mexico late Thursday. The storm brought heavy winds and rain to the Los Cabos beach resort, which experienced large waves and damage to palm trees.
Tropical Storm watches are in effect for southern Baja California as 'Bud' is rapidly weakening.
Hurricane Aletta quickly intensified in the eastern Pacific Ocean to a Category 4 storm late Friday, but the National Hurricane Center says it is beginning to weaken as it reaches cooler Pacific waters.
