Suspect in N. Spokane armed robbery also hit with assault charge

SPOKANE, Wash. — The suspect in a North Spokane armed robbery was also arrested on assault charges, according to the Spokane Police Department.
Officers responded to the area of E. Empire Ave and N. Nevada St on Wednesday for reports of the robbery. Police brought a K9 to the scene and were able to get info on the suspect from surveillance video taken in the area.
Police identified the suspect as John D. Redington. As they were setting up a perimeter, officers had probable cause to charge Redington with felony assault related to a domestic violence incident.
Dispatch was able to provide his home address and description of the last vehicle he was seen driving. Officers located the vehicle in a store parking lot a short time later and took him into custody.
