Sullivan Homes Idaho Ceasing Operations

SPOKANE — Sullivan Homes Idaho, which has been a major partner in KXLY’s Extreme Team for nearly three years, announced Wednesday morning that it was ending business operations.

The company, based in Sandpoint has not sold a custom home or speculative home in more than a year and, according to a press release issued Wednesday morning, has run out of operating capital and owes its lenders more than $13 million.

“Owners Todd and Lori Sullivan personally guaranteed much of that bank debt and face their own personal financial troubles,” the release added.

Sullivan Homes Idaho has built homes ranging in price from $800,000 to $1,900,000 and has a number of homes currently under construction in the Sandpoint area. This announcement comes on the heels of a similar closure of business by the unrelated company Sullivan Homes Inc. of Spokane.

For nearly three years, Sullivan Homes Idaho has been a major partner of KXLY’s Extreme Team, helping with dozens of community-changing projects in Spokane and North Idaho. That partnership began shortly after Sullivan Homes Idaho gained national attention, working with ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, building a home for the Hebert Family in Sandpoint.

Coincidentally, the Hebert home is now for sale and the price was recently dropped because they found no interested buyers.

The Extreme Team will continue with future projects, despite Wednesday’s announcement from Sullivan Homes Idaho.

“Although we are all deeply saddened by the developments with Sullivan Homes Idaho, especially for Todd, Lori and their family, we are excited to be able to ‘re-establish’ ourselves and continue the work we started almost 3 years ago,” KXLY4 Extreme Team Producer Rob Davis said.
