Stevens County Sheriff’s Office, DNR investigating suspicious brush fires

HUNTERS, Wash. — The Stevens County Sheriff’s Office and the Washington Department of Natural Resource investigation division are conducting a joint investigation into four suspicious brush fires that have been started along roadways in Hunters.

The first fire started four weeks ago and since then three more have been set. They have been determined to be human-caused and believed to be criminal in nature.

The Sheriff’s Office and DNR request the public to be vigilant when traveling in these areas an to report any suspicious activity or tips to the Stevens County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center at (509) 684-2555.
