‘Spooky’ harvest moon to light up night sky on Friday the 13th

A full harvest moon will light up the night sky this Friday the 13th.

The harvest moon marks the official beginning of fall. Days will begin to grow shorter and the full moon kicks it all off.

The spooky moon will be visible in the Inland Northwest. The best time to watch is late Friday night.

The National Weather Service in Spokane said to watch the window of time between when the sun goes down and the moon comes up. The sun will set at 7:06 p.m. and the moon will rise at 7:25 p.m.

There will be some cloud cover, with a chance for some rain showers, which might get in the way of a good view.
