Spokane Road Projects Wrapping Up
SPOKANE — Following the opening of the Maple Street Bridge Monday, hoards of drivers will celebrate the opening of Maple and Ash Streets Tuesday.
Spokane Mayor Mary Verner will attend the afternoon celebration to recognize the completion of the largest 10-year street bond.
The $4.2 million project was funded by the 10-year street bond, federal sources and the Spokane Transit Authority.
The project repaved the intersections of Maple and Ash Streets at Northwest Boulevard and Boone Avenue and rejuvenated Maple and Ash Streets at Northwest Boulevard.
The project also included the installation of a fiber optic communications system for new traffic signals and cameras.
The project began in April of 2008.
