Spokane Public Schools superintendent applies for Nashville position

NASHVILLE, Tenn. —The superintendent of Spokane Public Schools has applied for an open superintendent position in Nashville, Tennessee.
Dr. Shelley Redinger is one of 19 applicants for the position of Nashville’s next schools director, according to The Tennessean.
It’s the school board’s third search for a superintendent in the last five years. The Tennessean said the board is looking to replace former Superintendent Shawn Joseph, whose contract it bought out last year.
The list of applicants includes people from all over the country, from California to Michigan.
The Tennessee School Board Association will narrow that list to just five candidates next Tuesday. Those five remaining candidates will be interviewed in March, The Tennessean said.
Redinger has also applied for an open position in Scottsdale, Arizona.
