Spokane Police: Woman tied up and beaten with baseball bat used Alexa to call 911
SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane Police are still searching for a man accused of tying his girlfriend up and assaulting her with a baseball bat in a South Hill home.
Police responded to the home in the 2000 block of South Grand Blvd on Saturday.
They said the woman, who was still tied up, had used her Alexa to call 911.
The woman told officers her boyfriend, 46-year-old Andrew Beitel, had assaulted her. She said he tied her up and beat her with the baseball bat.
According to a release, she was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Police are still looking for Beitel. They have reason to believe he is suicidal and poses an extreme risk to others.
Police believe Beitel is driving a maroon/ red 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander with license plate BMZ5859.
He’s described as a white man, around 5’9” in height and 155 pounds.
Anyone who sees him is asked to not approach him, but to call 911.
