Spokane Police searching for man suspected of trying to lure children from a bus stop

SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane Police are searching for a man who they say is suspected of trying to lure a child from a bus stop on Tuesday.
Police say the man approached several children at the bus stop on N Victor St and W Lyons Ave. He called one of the kids by name, police said, and tried to convince them to get into the older grey sedan he was driving, claiming to be a family member.
The child told police they didn’t recognize the man. He ran away, later telling his parents.
Police describe the man as being younger and white. They say he was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.
If you have any information about where he might be, you’re asked to call Crime Check at 509-456-2233.
In light of the event, Spokane Police are reminding parents to talk to their children about not getting into cars with strangers.
