Spokane Police investigate stabbing, vehicle vs. pedestrian crash

SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane Police are investigating a stabbing that also involved a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash on Saturday night.
Just before 7 p.m., Spokane Police officers responded to the report of a stabbing in the 2000 block of west 7th. An initial investigation on showed that two people had witnessed a possible domestic violence incident between a man and a woman in a vehicle. The witnesses decided to intervene and were subsequently struck by the vehicle while trying to do so. At some point, one of the witnesses stabbed the driver of the vehicle.
The subject who stabbed the driver initially fled the scene, but contacted Spokane Police Sunday morning to give his statement. He is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Police have contacted all individuals that were directly involved in the incident and are not looking for any outstanding subjects. The investigation into what happened is ongoing.
