Armed suspect not found in Spokane police standoff

SPOKANE, Wash. — The suspect involved in a standoff with Spokane Police was not found in the home near Ray and 8th.
Officers said they got the call around 7:45 p.m. Friday night of a suicidal man allegedly with a gun. They later learned he was a felon. Police said the suspect was not supposed to have a firearm.
After trying different tactics, police got a search warrant to enter the home. However, they didn’t find the suspect inside.
Police said the home belonged to one of the suspect’s family members.
There is no threat to the public and the man was the only person in the home, according to police.
Police said they are currently tracking him. They have probable cause for a domestic violence protection order violation and unlawful possession of a firearm.
