Spokane Man Picked For YouTube Symphony
SPOKANE, W — Eric Moe, a trumpet player from Spokane, has won a spot on the new YouTube Symphony Orchestra.
He will join the orchestra of 90 musicians from 30 countries at New York’s Carnegie Hall on April 15 in the first-ever performance of an online-based symphony. Moe, 34, said his fellow performers were chosen from more than 3,000 people who submitted videos worldwide.
A graduate of Whitworth University, Moe later studied music at Arizona State and has played with the Colorado Symphony and Denver Brass group.
Moe and his family moved back to Spokane in July, and Moe has since been seeking trumpet jobs and performing as a substitute for the Spokane Symphony, Spokane Opera and Spokane Jazz Orchestra.
