Spokane Dutch Bros donating $1 per drink to ZZU’s Christmas Wish on Friday

SPOKANE, Wash. — National Coffee Day is fast approaching, but Dutch Bros Spokane and KZZU Christmas Wish are celebrating early with the annual ‘Buck for Kids’ event.
On Friday, September 27, all Dutch Bros Spokane shops will donate a dollar for every drink purchased, with proceeds going to KZZU Christmas Wish. The program helps provide goods and services for families in need during the holiday season, including paying overdue utility bills and buying food.
“I can’t think of a better way to spend our energy and resources than to help support the kids in our communities,” said Travis Boersma, CEO and co-founder of Dutch Bros Coffee. “Each year, our customers show up and make a huge impact. Together, we’re doing amazing things — it’s truly inspiring.”
The first ‘Buck for Kids’ event started in 2006, and over the course of thirteen years, Dutch Bros has raised over $2.1 million to support kids and their families. Now, with more locations than ever, they hope to bump that total to over $2.5 million this year.
The company gives local shops autonomy to coordinate where they direct their funds, and this year they chose KZZU Christmas Wish.
